On Monday, April 21st, 2025, at approximately 12:10pm, the Starke County 911 Center took a call from a female who reported living in the 4600-east block of county road 150 N in Knox. The caller reported that she was away from the residence and received a text message from her juvenile daughter, indicating that her daughter had just been sexually assaulted at the 150 N location by her father.
Deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department responded and arrived at the same time the caller arrived. Deputies were able to make contact with all individuals involved. During this time, the juvenile female told deputies that she had just been sexually assaulted by her father. The juvenile reported after the incident, she locked herself in her bathroom and contacted her mother.
Detectives were called to the scene and an investigation ensued. Leigh Hahn, age 45 of Knox, was identified as the juvenile’s father and the suspect in the case. During the investigation, detectives obtained evidence suggesting there have been several incidents where Hahn has sexually assaulted his daughter. Hahn was detained and transported to the Starke County Justice Center.
