State Road 8, Knox, IN 46534<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $50 (cash or check only), to be paid on the day of the event<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course will include 2 hours of instruction covering the safe storage and handling of firearms and carrying considerations, approximately 4 hours at a shooting range learning the fundamentals of shooting, and 1 hour of follow-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must be 21 years old or older<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each applicant must complete and submit a registration form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participants must bring an unloaded handgun (holster optional), a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition, as well as ear and eye protection.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First 30 applicants will be reserved, all remaining will be placed on a waiting list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration forms can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/starkecountysheriff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/2026GunSafetyRegistration.pdf\">here<\/a>, or can be picked up at the Starke County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please submit completed applications to <strong>April Wilhelm, <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:awilhelm@starke.in.gov\"><strong>awilhelm@starke.in.gov<\/strong><\/a><\/strong>, AND<strong> Deputy Brandon Obermiller, <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:bobermiller@starke.in.gov\"><strong>bobermiller@starke.in.gov<\/strong><\/a><strong> .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applications can also be dropped off at the Starke County Sheriff\u2019s Office at<\/strong> <strong>5435 E.
